Those who harvest earlier do so to obtain extra acidity.<\/p>\n<p><em>Vigne Basse 2014<\/em>. 70m above sea, brown stones. A tiny bit of Albarola used for extra freshness. Closed nose, creamy freshness, ripe peaches, creamy with peppery finish \u2013 from one night skin contact. Slightly salty on the finish with intense dried fruit.<\/p>\n<p><em>Fosso di Corsano 2014<\/em> 250-400m. Skin contact. Fennel seed on the nose. Dry but with sweet fruit, spice, herbal, dried fruit, sweet and salty. With age the fresh \u2018pine\u2019 character will become more resinous.<\/p>\n<p><em>Vermentino Nero 2014<\/em> (Vermentino Nero&#8217;s parentage is white Vermentino x Pinot Noir x Gamay. Small to medium berries with thin skin) plus 5-10% Pollera. Mineral lean tannins. Firm. Long, fresh clean acidity. More austere. Will age 3-5 years. Wild berry fruit, bottled 10 days ago. Fermented in open topped barrels, MLF in large oak and then in concrete from February. Grape prone to oxidation.<\/p>\n<p><em>Merla della Minera 2014<\/em> Toscana IGT.\u00a0Cannaiolo and Massertta (named after the place Massa where the white marble comes from). Found these old original varieties in very old vineyards. Very rich, rich sun-ripened fruit with very firm tannins and acidity.
