Rosie had gluten free pasta and melon and ham instead of the pastries. Our waiter was vegetarian so he looked after Ben and David and they were very careful over the desserts. Their care and attention really put French restaurants to shame.

We went back again just the four of us which was good – but despite calling in advance the care was less – we brought our own pasta – and the menu was the same. The third time we went with Lance and Judy (August 2011) – same menu and they seemed more hassled by our complicated requests – although they seemed to be getting to know us.

View from the terrace towards the Grand Hotel

A dish of ceps – Rosie had double instead of the pastries

Lamb with Pigna beans

The fourth time we were with the growers of Rossese di Dolceacqua.
