Founded 1979 NB no oak even though this comes up times and again on tasting notes?
Vineyards are up around Soldano. Marco trained in Bolzano. Now his daughter wants to go into wine and he has said that rather than her just working with him, she should go to wine college, such as Alba and then work around the world.

7th July 2012 ‘Style Rossese’ Blind Tasting, Bajardo
Classico 2011 Rubber on nose. On palate lots of cherry fruit, slightly toasty oak character. 14/20
Superiore 2010 Fresh and fruity, and crisp – although not as fresh and crisp as the best. (NB no ‘oaky’ character!)15.5/20
23rd June 2012 Dolceacqua
Classico 2011 Slightly burnt rubber on the nose – which is typical of some young Rossese – the evening before the wine was much fresher; after aeration, better. Tannic, intense structure, black fruit – a very different style to the lighter wines – this wine is much more robust. Black fruit, blackberries and cherries, intense, fresh acidity. 17/20
22nd May 2011 Blind Tasting Bordighera
Luvaira 2009 Lots of new oak on nose (tasted blind – actually no oak!) Dry oaky tannins. Good weight. Modern international style. Oak a little evident still, but I think enough fruit to support it. Not typical. 14.5/20
NB common feature of apparent oak but no oak.
29th May 2010 Blind Tasting Dolceacqua
2009 Savoury aromas. Savoury tannins – firm bodied and balanced by ripe red berry fruit. Well balanced. 17/20
Superiore 2008 – bottle #1 Sweaty saddle (brett?) aromas but good fresh fruit. Foresti surprised as all the wines have the same lot number so all wines should be the same. 15/20
#2 bottle. Completely different aromas – floral aromas and fresh fruit. 18/20
7th May 2010
Superiore 2008 Ruby red, medium depth, lighter than the Testalonga. Not a big heavy wine. Raspberries? Strawberries? Black plummy fruit with sweet oak notes and savoury flavours. Rosie – nose smokey. Long strong taste of what fruit? Solid? Cassis and oak. “Night time with moon on a lake” Alcohol at end. Sourness woven in. Tannins well integrated. Very good with tuna and pepper sauce. 18/20
5th April 2010
Superiore 2008 Dark red. Very ‘oaky’ nose. Full bodied. 18/20 NB no oak.
